Synchronicity

Synchronicity. I love the sound of that word.

I also love the meaning of the word as defined by Carl Jung.

Prior to Jung's coining of the word, synchronicity was merely a coincidence, but it was much more than that. It was a coincidence that actually solved a problem or verified a thought, belief or even an opinion. It can be a confirmation as well as an answer or solution to a problem.

People of faith may prefer to call it divine intervention, but when I use the word synchronicity, I am still referring to divine intervention.

The word synchronicity simply explains (for me) the way that the universe and the angels (as God has directed) are working to solve the little details of our lives.

I experienced it last week and again today. I have some bills on automatic draft which is usually quite painless and worry free. However, our income is quite tight during summer months and so the draft which was scheduled for tomorrow was going to go over my account balance.

My daughter's check is automatically deposited, but not until after midnight. So what were the chances that her money would come in, we would go withdraw enough to cover the bill and get it deposited into my account before the draft went through? Slim to none - or so it seemed.

Around 11pm, just as she was going to bed, I asked her to check her bank balance. I don't know why I asked her to do this. It just came out of my mouth without my thinking about it. (Synchronicity beginning.) Did I really think the money would magically appear out of thin air?

I guess I did. I had faith that our problem would be solved.

And it was.

Her paycheck was deposited early and was already in the account. Hallelujah!

So we jumped into the car and headed first to her bank and then to mine.

Problem solved.

Synchronicity.

Isn't that a lovely word?

I thank God, the Universe and the Angels for intervening on my behalf.

The Medicine I Need

I've been in misery for almost two weeks now with a skin condition known as cellulitis. I've had it before, but this time, one particular area seemed to refuse to heal. The prescription ointment wasn't working, the home made remedies weren't working, and I was becoming a pretty grouchy person.

The home remedies did bring some relief from the pain for a while, but the condition was not improving. I was beginning to think that I simply could not come up with the medicine I need to heal this condition.

Then yesterday, an amazing thing happened.

My daughter and I went to CVS to get some conditioner for her hair, and decided to buy some ice cream while we were there. The ice cream freezer is at the back of the store, just behind the close out and special sale rack.

As I walked past and glanced at the rack to be sure I didn't miss out on any spectacular sale item, there on the top shelf was a solitary tube of something that had the word aloe in it. Mind you, I had already tried aloe vera, and it wasn't really improving the condition. It wasn't the medicine I needed.

Anyway, this tube was marked down to one fifth of the normal price, so I picked it up to read about the ingredients and what it was used for. Hmmm, this might work.

I bought it for $3, went home and applied it immediately. What a relief! The pain stopped.

Twenty four hours later, I am much better. The condition is almost gone.

Thank God for knowing the medicine I need and supplying it to me in a delightful way, and also in a way that fit my budget.

I love serendipity, especially when it's orchestrated by God and the universe, or the angels that watch over us.

I am now pain free and in my normal state of mind again.

This may seem like a mere coincidence to some people, but for some of us, we celebrate these intervention moments.

Bless the Food

Why do you suppose that even Jesus blessed the food before eating it? We now know that everything is energy and is affected by energy. We also know that our words are powerful. Even the Bible speaks of the power of life and death given to the tongue.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits. Proverbs 18:21 ESV
Therefore, the purpose of blessing the food is more than a statement of thanks, it is an action of energizing the food to be nutritious as the Creator intended. In this day and age, when corporations are adding pesticides to our food and genetically modifying the food (so they make more money), it is more important than ever that people take the time to bless or energize their food before consuming it. Even if you doubt this premise of energizing food, it certainly will not hurt to place yourself in a state of gratitude before eating. Just as plants grow stronger when you talk to them (experiment for yourself), so will food respond to the power of your words, especially raw foods. Is it just coincidence that ancient people, particularly native Americans, thanked the animal they hunted and treated it respectably? I think not.
Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” Matthew 26:26 English Standard Version (ESV)

May God Smile on YOU Today!

On this wise ye shall bless them,

  •  The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
  •  The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
  •  The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

May God Smile on YOU Today!

Authority of the Book Of Revelation

I have often been ridiculed for my non-belief in a rapture, or the book of Revelation in general.

I have always urged people to study the origins of the text, so they could learn for themselves.

The book of Revelation was not written by one of the disciples. I realize that is what most people are taught from the pulpit, but that doesn't make it true.

The following article is an excellent read that helps explain all of what was happening during the times of the writing of John of Patmos' vision.

It barely made it into the New Testament at all. There was a reason for that near omission. It was a current prophecy for its day, not current in our day.

Interesting, how we judge prophets today by if and when their prophecies come true, but we do not apply such stringent rules on prophets such as John of Patmos, who lived 2,000 years ago, and whose prophecy did NOT come true, at least not in its entirety.

God is Good

Zoroastrianism is an ancient religion but is still active today, although their membership is only about a quarter of a million people.

Zoroastrianism is the oldest monotheistic religion known in recorded history.

Many scholars believe that this religion was the foundation for the Judean, Christian and Islamic religions.

Modern day Zoroastrianism stresses that God is not capable of doing harm.

I like this description of God, and I believe it to be true.

God as a judge and therefore one who doles out a sentence of eternal torment has never felt true to me, neither logically nor spiritually.

When we assign these characteristics to God, we are doing the same thing that many of the early civilizations did when they attributed natural disasters to the fury of one of their deities.

If this is true, then how can one say that God is love?

I realize that many will attempt to explain WHY God would judge, but I don't think that one should have to explain God's actions.

If God's actions need defending, then why would one choose to enter a relationship with him?

Yes, I know, we have free will, and what happens to us is our own fault, not God's. Right?

Wrong.

A loving creator God will not create a trap infested life just to see if you can make it through to the other side without falling into one of the traps. So spare me that flimsy explanation.

Think about who God really is.

Don't look for him in a book, but rather look for him in his kingdom.

Look for him in nature, in the skies, the forests, the animals and yes, even the humans, especially in yourself.

Eisenhower's Prayer

Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Farewell Address

“To all the peoples of the world, I once more give expression to America’s prayerful and continuing inspiration:

We pray that peoples of all faiths, all races, all nations, may have their great human needs satisfied; that those now denied opportunity shall come to enjoy it to the full; that all who yearn for freedom may experience its spiritual blessings; that those who have freedom will understand, also, its heavy responsibilities; that all who are insensitive to the needs of others will learn charity; that the scourges of poverty, disease and ignorance will be made to disappear from the earth, and that, in the goodness of time, all peoples will come to live together in a peace guaranteed by the binding force of mutual respect and love.”
